Shame
In February 2009, well before Ruby and company, the former U.S. ambassador to Italy, Ronald Spogli said something like `(The full text of the service can be found here ):
" outputs unhappy Berlusconi insulted virtually all categories of Italian citizens and EU leaders . Berlusconi has made it "comical" Italy's reputation. It is becoming the symbol of the inability of government to address the numerous problems the country's decaying infrastructure, rising public debt and endemic corruption .... The European allies decry Berlusconi, but we must not make the same mistake. If Judas to hand and we believe important, Berlusconi will prove is the best ally possible. "
The service goes on talking about the strategic position of Italy for its operations in Africa, relations with Russia and regretting concludes that although these revelations paint a very poorly of Berlusconi and his government, the news was not given importance to fault of Berlusconi's control of TV and newspapers.
We want to stop saying that our bad reputation in the world is the fault of magistrates.
